Shaw's Fish House

Family reunion tradition to eat at Shaws, it was wonderful as always.

My wife and I love this place. The fish is always hot and crispy. Coleslaw is top notch, the fries are fries and the hush puppies need some work, but I go there to eat fish, and that is top notch every time. No complaints here. I recommend this fish house to anyone that loves fried catfish.

Overall disappointed. My first and last time eating there. To start, the tables were wiped down but had a constant stickiness. There was no sense of urgency to get our drink orders much less our food. Most importantly though is the mere fact they use only peanut oil for all of there fried foods. I was going there for their fried catfish only to find out I would only be able to order baked fish and shrimp (baked shrimp is a bad idea). Peanut allergies is a pretty common thing so I figured like many other restaurants they would have another oil option...but they didn't. The waitress was was kind other than the wait.

Fish were gritty look like they use corn meal or some on everything. No flavor just salt ,the stuff crab was horrible taste like chemicals. The shrimp were edible but same mix and season like salt. For what we paid it was a joke. People that go here a lot must not know much about real flavor and Seafood taste. Don't see how they stay open but it's the only place around so I guess that it's. Service was horrible they past us up for 15 minutes we had to go ask young kids doing nothing another waitress was nicer we we she would have helped us.

The fish was amazing, as usual, we absolutely love the atmosphere.
