V Pizza 1st St - Jacksonville

This might be my top choice for vegan pizza in Jacksonville. I believe they also make their own vegan ricotta. I always order the vegetarian pizza and switch out the cheese for vegan cheese (the crust is already vegan).

I was excited to try this restaurant but had a terrible experience. I ordered 1 regular pizza and 2 vegan pizzas. When my pizza arrived, I noticed it had regular cheese and fresh basil on top, which I had ordered but it didn't seem to be cooked with the pizza. I politely sent it back and the staff apologized and remade it. The second pizza I received had vegan cheese and cooked basil, but the sauce was just dolloped on top, which was not how I ordered it. It seemed like they had originally made the pizza correctly but forgot the sauce, then sent me a regular cheese pizza with added basil. When I confronted the staff, they rudely insisted that all pizzas were made that way, even though it was clear from my table that this was not true. They remade the pizza and took the one with sauce on top away from my table, which had been sitting with us for at least 10 minutes. I left feeling unsure about what happened to that pizza once they took it back. Overall, I won't be returning as it felt like an inconvenience for the staff to make the vegan items, despite them being on the menu.

Overall, it felt like an inconvenience for the staff to make the vegan options and I will not be returning to this restaurant.
