St. Johns Provision - Jacksonville

We used to really enjoy the breakfast buffet here, but today was our first visit in about two years. Unfortunately, the bacon was undercooked, and the over-medium eggs we ordered were inedible. The sausage was also not cooked all the way through. Additionally, the benches were worn out, and the upholstery was falling apart. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and very accommodating.

Ezzy was my server for breakfast, and she made our morning truly special. She even prepared the granola herself, and it was the best I've ever tasted. Ezzy is a gem and definitely deserves recognition!

The Google Maps listing indicated that the restaurant was open, but it's actually a hotel restaurant that serves breakfast only. It closes around 10 AM.

I have great appreciation for St Johns Provision! I work in the building next door, and every week, we eagerly anticipate the breakfast buffet during our Saturday and Sunday shifts. There is something truly remarkable about the muffins and croissants they make here; they are incredibly fresh! We've sampled other breakfast buffets in downtown, but nothing compares to the charm and quality of Doubletree. It really hits the spot!

The buffet included eggs, bacon, sausage, kielbasa, O'Brien potatoes, French toast, pastries, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and grits, along with bagels, toast, English muffins, yogurt, and more fruit. However, the coffee cups were a bit unappealing. They offered pink, white, blue, and turbinado sugar, and drinks were served to us. My waitress was friendly, especially during the busy rush hour when coffee was being refilled quickly. I did notice that my table was cleared while I was getting fruit, though. If you're looking for a convenient breakfast option and don't feel like going out somewhere, this place could work for you. For those interested in a short walk, The Southern is a bar that serves breakfast just a block away. My bill there came to nearly $20 (including tip) for an omelet, coffee, and a box of cookies to go.
