Primi Piatti. - Jacksonville

I've driven by this place dozens of times, but have never gone in, so I decided to have my birthday dinner there. As soon as we walked in they asked why are we so dressed up and I told them, then they asked for my name. During my dinner they offered me wine but I declined since my friends and I couldn't afford it, then the owner gave us a glass on the house! After our dinner they sang me happy birthday and gave me a dessert. Our waiter was so great, the food was amazing, and the owner made sure everything was good. Then we walked around riverside for a bit, on our way back to get our cars we saw the owner drinking wine with a couple inside, he told us to come in too. The 6 of us ended up finishing 4 bottles of wine and having amazing conversation. The restaurant is small but it's perfect, it even looks like the dining room at my grandmother's house. They treated me like family and made me feel so special. I will definitely be back again, I only regret not going in sooner.

Primi Piatti is such an unassuming little place, but what a pleasant surprise a hidden gem! I can think of absolutely nothing to suggest for improvement. Both the food and service were perfect. We shared an order of mussels delicious, hubby had linguine and clams excellent, but my dish was the stand out red snapper cooked with garlic, capers and wine over pasta with green beans and carrots......oh....my....goodness cooked to perfection! I've lived and eaten all over, and this fish was crazy good! We will definitely be back!

When you book a table at Primi Piatti, get ready to have some absolutely outstanding food! Their pasta is homemade, their sauces are handcrafted to perfection, and their portions are generous. The only challenge at this restaurant is deciding which delicious option to choose! It really doesn't matter as long as you finish your meal with the Italian lemon cake and cappuccino! Staff at this restaurant are also super friendly and welcoming, and they occasionally have someone playing the violin, which makes it all terribly romantic.

It goes without saying that the meal and wine were superb (in fact, the best sauvignon blanc I've ever had), but there are not enough wonderful things I can say about the service. Coming from a Sicilian woman, I'll simply say that I'll never go to another Italian restaurant in town. Primi Piatti excels in every aspect of Italian culture and cuisine. We left feeling like we'd finished a holiday meal with family; full, refreshed, a little buzzed and very thankful that we’d gone.

Excellent. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly service. Authentic food. Live music. So much fun. When u walk In you are transported to Italy by the amazing and fabulous smell of garlic and tomatoes and herbs that all say Italia!
