Bidrage med feedbackBest food and staff in any restaurant!. My husband and I moved to Anniston about three months ago. We came over Cooter Brown when we were looking for food on our GPS. When we arrived, I almost didn't go in. The restaurant is located on the corner of the city and the gravel park is not very well lit. The building is very downhill (old weathered wooden planks are missing over a pavement building and part of the wood). The only windows on the building are very high, very dark tinted and show different neon beer lights. We'd probably have turned around and gone home if we hadn't only been there for 30 minutes. I'm so glad we shot it. As soon as we got in, the scene of skanky changed too cozy. We were welcomed right away. The restaurant was busy and we didn't want to pick up a big picnic table, as there were only two of us, so we sat at the bar to wait for a stand. The bartender Jen told us about Back Forty, a local brewery, and let's try some beers. My husband ordered the Naked Pig Pale Ale. I couldn't decide about a mixed drink, so she asked me a few questions about what liqueur I like or not, and whether I wanted something sweet, sour or soda base, then she made a drink called Sweet Tart. We continued to talk to her and we enjoyed our conversation so much that we decided to stay at the bar and order food even though a stand was ready. My husband ordered ribs with dry rub and sauce on the side, and he loved the dry rub so much that he bought some to take home. I had the superb chicken dinner, which is named accordingly. It is with BBQ sauce, bacon and cheese. The whole food was delicious, even the side parts. We had BBQ beans, roasted Okra and potato salad. The cook came out of the kitchen to fill his soda and we told him that our food was wonderful. He was very polite and thanked us for the compliment. We enjoyed our visit to Cooter Brown so much that we were back twice. We sat down the second time and our waitress was Keisha, who was very friendly and also very helpful. She told us about the history of the building. We both ate BBQ Pork Sandwiches and they were delicious. For the third time we had Micky as a waitress and sat up in a small wooden table. Once again the food and service were spectacular! The restaurant was full and Micky ran up and down all the time, but she never stopped smiling. My husband and I owned and operated a family restaurant for 14 years and I don't think we had waitresses like Jen, Keisha or Micky all the time we were open. I don't know we've ever had chefs as good as those who work at Cooter Brown. We will be back as often as possible. Keep the good work!!!!
Amazing BBQ. U must try their deep fried corn on the cob!!! It's awesome!!
Truly good ribs. I have only been once, but I listened to the waitress, and had the ribs. These ribs were quite literally the best wings I have ever eaten (with an exception to my mothers). The atmosphere is very homey, and the overall experience is wonderful.
Ribs just don't get any better. I travel all over the US. I've never had ribs as good as these guys make. Looks like a run down shack. But it is delicious.
Most Tender Pulled Pork. I love Cooter Brown's! And am so glad that I'm a JSU student and can frequent it as much as I want. I always get the pulled pork bbq sandwich and it is so tender and delicious. And their sauce is great too! The hot is really, really hot, so I usually just get the regular. Definitely my all time favorite bbq!
