West Alley Bbq Smokehouse - Jackson

I had an amazing bologna pulled pork sandwich, and the dry rub wings were quite good as well. This place is a must-visit for BBQ in Jackson, Tennessee!

I really enjoyed the food and I hope to dine there again when they reopen.

After seeing the reviews in a group I'm part of, we decided to visit this restaurant for the first time at the end of March 2021. My husband ordered the catfish plate with white beans and vinegar slaw, while I went for a fully loaded baked potato with meat. Unfortunately, my husband found the beans to be brown and unappetizing, and he wasn't impressed with the slaw either. I tried it myself, and while it wasn't my favorite flavor, I thought it was an acceptable vinegar slaw. On the plus side, my baked potato was truly delicious. However, later on, I experienced some stomach issues and made frequent trips to the bathroom, which lasted until late the next day. I’m not sure we’ll be going back.

I ordered the combo platter that included two meats and two sides, and the brisket was definitely the star of the show. It was slightly fatty and wonderfully tender, complemented perfectly by their sweet Tennessee Whiskey BBQ sauce, which was served on the side for us to add as much as we wanted—a lovely touch! While the rest of the platter was good, the brisket really stole the spotlight. The sausage was decent, and although I’ve had better sides, they were still tasty enough to enhance the overall experience. If I’d been feeling a bit more adventurous, I would have loved to try the ribs and catfish bites as well! Perhaps next time!

I recently tried ordering lunch from this restaurant, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The ordering process was simple, and the staff were both friendly and efficient. My food was ready right on time and nicely packaged for takeout. The portion sizes were generous, offering excellent value within the $10 to $20 price range. I loved the menu's variety, which catered to different tastes with plenty of choices. The flavors were outstanding, and everything tasted fresh and expertly prepared. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant for a tasty and budget-friendly lunch option!
