Bidrage med feedbackAmazing place to have lunch, or dinner. Good food accompanied by the excellent wine. Moreover, the service was one of the best I've ever had in Paris helpful staff that was ready to give good, and insightful recommendations. If you are in the area you have to go there and check it out :
We tried this restaurant on New Year's Day for lunch. I had the Terrine de Cochon and the Celeri Confit. Husband had the veloute de butternut and the cassoulet de pois chiche seiche. My terrine was outstanding and a very generous portion. The celeri confit was very unique, celeriac prepared in a way I have never had. The menu stated it was served with roquette, but my dish had the chestnut puree (which was fantastic) topped with fresh spinach, which I was very pleased with as I prefer it over roquette. I enjoyed my meal and plan to try to prepare the celeriac in a similar fashion. Husband liked his butternut puree but was less thrilled with the cassoulet dish. He said the seiche was a bit tough and he would have preferred the pois chiches cooked more. I ordered a tea verveine and it was good. Husband had a glass of red wine, also good. We were never given a pitchet of water. I did ask for a glass of wine and the server forgot to bring it. He apologized when he cleared our plates and realized his mistake. We asked for the bill at that time as the wait time between courses was quite long and we knew we needed to ask for the bill or maybe never see our server again... He was very friendly, but slow. We paid on our way out as after about 15 minutes waiting the bill never arrived. The restaurant is located in a rather obscure square surrounded by apartment buildings. If you didn't know about the restaurant or live in the apartment buildings, I'm not sure how you'd ever find it. Worth looking though. We will return.
The owner knows well his wines, which seems to have been carefully picked. Some rare finds, dozens to select from on the Cave side with a reasonable corkage fee €10). On food, the English chef impressed us. We loved the pork, crispy and cooked to perfection. Appetizer plate was equally delicious. Overall a nice setup, pleasant atmosphere. Negative side: don 't go there if you are in a rush and don 't bother making reservation on their website they do not monitor it). Website 's wine list is also obsolete. Would I recommend it to my friends? Absolutely!
We have dined in our neighborhood restaurant after a interesting screening in nearby temps des cerises center. We have appreciated the design of the place. Unfortunately the waitress seemed to be very bored by her job, was quite unfriendly and never smiling. The wine and whiskey advised to us by her were ok but really nothing special. We have not liked the fact that you have to order the whole menu. We chose the 21€ menu. My starter was a quite tasty pumpkin soup and my boyfriend ordered some pate. We didn't really fancy the main course trout with carrots and leeks, miso very liquidy sauce and the very bizarre combination with the mussels. The desert was even more deceiving: green tea panna cota didn't marry well with its' unripe kiwi relish. I have also asked for a doggy bag with half of my main course portion that was never given to me (maybe the waitress forgot). In other words we may not be coming back...
