Bidrage med feedbackLuke warm service and disappointing beer. Ignored at the bar in favour of a couple who had walked in behind me. As soon as I sat down with my “Wainwright” beer (brewed by Carlsberg in Nottingham so about as local as the M25) I was told “that table is reserved from 7.15, just so you know”. It was 6.00. What an attitude towards customers. Luckily I discovered a lovely pub just 5 miles up the road in Dacre where the staff are genuinely friendly, the beer local and varied (not brewed by some faceless multi-national trading on the image of a locally-treasured author, and the food fantastic. My advice: go there instead.
A cozy, cozy bar with a large selection of drinks in the offer. my partner was a special fan of ullswater blonde real ale. the rhabarb gin is delicious and so is the strawberry and limette. there are many seats, but has many...small places for a cozy chat.
We used this bar as it is part of the patterdale hotel where we were. as a biertrinker I could not mistake the quality of the hand pulled beer, especially the “Wainwright” was very good. there is also a good selection of gins and a wine list that corresponds to all budgets.
Popular with both living and walking. good ale, good eating and friendly bar staff. if the weather is good, they can drink and eat at one of the many tables in the garden.
We received very good service, with many portions, we were very happy to enjoy beautiful weather so we are in the position, still in the front outside sitting area and enjoy the stunning view and watch the world over.
