Bidrage med feedbackLovely cosy cafe, wood fire. Lovely sausage sandwich. Just reopened and so glad. Friendly staff including maintenance chap. Great place to catch up for a chat, a then walk outside to see some stunning scenery . Woodland walk and red squirrels and wild birds.
Came here years ago and was impressed then and am still impressed now. Had a lovely afternoon tea today, with tasty well filled sandwiches, fresh hot scones, (huge! Bara Brith and fresh home made cakes. Tea was served in china cups and everything was delicious. Yes we had to wait a while but as it said on the board everything was made fresh to order and it was well worth the wait. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there were people with their dogs, families with children who were well entertained in the play area, and lovely views. All in all an excellent afternoon. Thank you
Today we visited our favourite cafe on Anglesey, it's a must visit every trip for us. Coffee Cups Toll House is set in the most beautiful location in the beautiful Penrhos Country Park is ideal for dog walkers all the family. The view from the garden is delightful overlooks the beach. Coffee Cups is in one of Thomas Telfords original Toll Houses. We are always met with a friendly warm welcome from the staff our 2 dogs love it here, not only do they have a beautiful garden but our dogs look forward to their cheese treat from the staff. There is a play garden for children indoor outdoor seating. The food is freshly cooked to order from their varied menu. I always enjoy the lovely fresh salad which accompanies my sandwich. My husband usually orders hot food which he loves. After our healthy lunch we ordered a hand made scone to share with yummy jam, fresh cream strawberries. There is a lovely selection of fresh cakes to choose from. The coffee is simply the best. I had decaff cappuccino my husband had a latte. We look forward to returning next trip.
We too had a bad experience. Slow slow service, thrown together food, and untidy staff. The salad was fresh though and we only got one piece of cake and not two ! For heavens sake do yourself a favour and employ a decent cook and tidy up your staff. We were served by a young chap with one eye the other was covered by long hair dangling about. Not nice.
The photographs say it all. We ordered pea and ham soup, a prawn sandwich, mushrooms on toast, and two portions of Bara Brith fruit loaf) Our tea arrived first after 15 minutes we drank that and waited a further half hour for the soup and sandwich. mayonnaise with three prawns sandwich) The mushrooms on toast arrived 7 minutes later. The mushrooms had been either grilled or dry fried because they were totally desiccated. The toast was untoasted and unbuttered as per photograph. I then asked for butter waitress laughed) which arrived clutched in the girls hand no knife. I spread the butter with a teaspoon. Knife arrived 5 minutes later. We waited a further 17 minutes for the bara brith but then left before its arrival. As we left I looked into the kitchen and the 5 staff were standing around chatting and judging by the size of them all eating our bara brith, and the rest of the cake in the place as well. Dirty tea pots, unkempt untrained staff, terrible service and unbelievably dreadful food. The photographed blackboard sign badly spelt and very rude) says it all. I would have a Mac Donald’s in preference any day, or actually starve. We can only think that the wonderful reviews have been left by friends and family or, sometimes they actually have good staff on. There were 6 other people in the garden eating, so there certainly wasn’t a rush on!! Not surprising.
