Bidrage med feedbackFirst visit in 5 years and what a disappointment. Very limited menu (no crab!! and the prices do not match the product or quality. £38 for a small lobster with a pile of chips and £29 for a steak with a pile of chips is an insult restaurants in London would not charge this much. No draft beers, £5.40 for a half pint bottle of ale and staff look disinterested and don’t have a clue about the menu. This used to be a highlight of visiting Anglesey, but the restaurant looks like it has lost its way.
Completely overpriced average food. Had small crab cakes 14.95 then the smallest lobster probably legal to catch 37.95. They must have seen us coming ! Don't bother
Menu Very limited choice . Normally that’s ok as it normally means everything is freshly cooked and not out of the freezer into an oven or frying pan. However…. Starters Prawn Cocktail. Ok , decent size , good taste. Scallops. 3 small Scallops on a bed of ?? Scallops nicely cooked. But 3? Really? Mains Steak 8oz with Prawns. Ordered Medium cooked and received medium cooked. Half the steak was chewy the other half perfect. Chips ok. King Prawns good. Lobster. No taste, seriously, no taste. Was this previously frozen. Badly needs a sauce of some kind . Chips ok. Pudding Chocolate (brownie?? ice cream. Nice. Drinks Snowdon Ale very nice. Merlot very nice. Overall. Thought about this overnight this a restaurant that used to really shine. It was the place to go. What we experienced was young very pleasant staff with no direction. We were asked at least four times by different folks if the meal was ok. As we wanted to review the venue we kept quiet.Ordering drinks , the really nice young lad didn’t know what cider was available or what beer was available and had to return to our table with answers. Apparently he always forgets. Layout of seating , our table was squashed into a wall and the table next to us had a seated guest which made it difficult to sit . Looking at the space , there was plenty of room, it was simply badly positioned. The vinegar pot was almost empty. Conclusion. Has the chef lost interest? Seriously needs to review how to lift what’s being served. Attention to detail there is little. It’s all too casual. Prices frankly are seriously way too high for service and quality of food. Better discipline on layout , staff training and for goodness sake look at the what’s being offered on the menu and how it’s cooked. Prices cannot be justified. I would love to see this restaurant back on form.
Awful food and ridiculously overpriced. My family and I visited for dinner and were so disappointed. The service was okay but disorganised and simple things we asked for were forgotten about. My wife had the penang curry with prawns and it was shocking. It tasted like curry powder and water and the vegetables in it were clearly frozen veg that consisted of sweetcorn, peas and cauliflower and the prawns were like rubber. For nearly £20 it was vile!! The kids could have made a curry better than that!! The setting is so beautiful and they could do so much more with the place. It honestly isn’t worth a visit and I believe they are putting the prices up again. Daylight robbery!
I cannot recommend enough!! We have visited this restaurant on many occasions in the past. But the 1st time with the new owners. They have certainly rose to the challenge, and raised the bar I believe. Ceri the owner couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the ambience of the place remains cosy and spotless, with four legged friends also given a warm welcome. Great selection of local beers, which delighted my husband. Ceri recommended the local “tap room” where the ales are brewed separate review on TA) which we duly noted and visited on Saturday, and enjoyed immensely. The menu in the Lobster Pot, restaurant remains as good as ever. Abundant with local produce. Our meals were cooked to perfection, fresh and delicious. Service was top notch and we were made to feel very welcome and spoilt to be honest. We highly recommend you visit and sample their beautiful food and drinks. I can only see them going from strength to strength with this business, as they truly embrace the “family business model” I recommend the lobster mornay, exquisite. Well done to Ceri and her Team and hope to see you again soon.
