Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I have been traveling to Newfoundland for over 20 years and discovered this restaurant three years ago. The food is delicious traditional fare, including moose soup, moose stew, pan-roasted cod, and pea soup with dumplings. Everything was wonderful. The restaurant also has a gift shop and sometimes hosts dinner theater nights. We appreciate the fast service, friendly smiles, and engaging conversations.
We shared many dishes... Fish cakes were melted in the mouth without fish taste. Almost there seemed cheese in them, they were so smooth. Super fresh fish! Pea soup and dumpling was amazing... lots of light and air, believe it or not. Ham, carrots and beets. Much different from a dense winterpea soup. It was great. Beans, sweet with molasses, served with fresh dinner roll. Eggs and Bologna. A classic. So delicious with homemade and homemade toast. Fish and Brewis... well, it's fish with hard tack and we can say we tried. Bakeapple cheesecake was sensational. Light potcake. Don't miss this dessert. I'm sure they run out every day. Partridgeberry rich and delicious. Rhubarb Cobbler Light and Zingy. What a meal! Very recommended. Open at 11:00. Close at 7:00. Closed Sundays. Don't miss this jewel!
This place will be saved after a famous dog and his family, the people of a sinking ship the dispatch from England the food is great and the service to not forget to check the trace
Okay, that's a pretty unpredictable place. They run a small community restaurant from the Rotary Club Hall. But do yourself a favor if you find out in this way and try the moose stone. It was absolutely delicious. If Moose is not your pleasure, you know that the broken cod was also extraordinary. Fries are hand-cut and well cooked. And it is licensed so that you can cheer a little when setting the staff is simply not enough to do it.
What a wonderful community center with delicious homecooked food in a gorgeous setting! The ladies of the community are welcoming and kind. The display of Newfoundland dogs is a nice touch. Isle aux Morts is a short drive from Port aux Basques and definitely worth stopping by for a meal before catching the evening ferry. Make sure to arrive before 7pm. There are lovely walks nearby, and I truly enjoyed everything about this place. My only complaint is that I wish there was a real Newfoundland dog around that I could pet!
