Bidrage med feedbackThey have changed their menu and it's very now. They got 3 of our orders wrong and the fish had tons of scales/bones that was hard to eat. They didn't offer compensation at all! The setting is beautiful but the food is horrible now and staff doesn't care.
Night one of our full week stay at Cheeca. We were seated outside, which was our mistake due to heat....but we survived it. Sunset was very pretty and then moonlight over the water was beautiful. We ordered 3 small plates...octopus, ceviche, and lobster mac cheese. Octopus was excellent and so was ceviche. Lobster mac was just okay. Our cocktails were good. We had key lime tart for dessert, which was good. After the sun went down, we ate in the dark for majority of time because staff forgot to set out lanterns on tables until we were just about to leave. There was a rather loud group of about 10+ people with a Yeti cooler full of alcoholic drinks sitting in front of us on the beach. One lady and one man in the group were on and off loud due to being drunk.....but other than that ambience was nice. There was an acoustic guitar player providing entertainment and they were excellent....providing continuous music. We look forward to eating here again, but inside and will select a main entree to try next during our stay.
The host was quite disappointing. He struggled to use the computer to seat us, and we ended up waiting 15-20 minutes while he tried to figure it out, even though there were clean and available tables the whole time. It was clear he didn't know what he was doing!
We were hoping for the perfect date night during our stay and my hubby surprised me with a reservation for dinner. We were seated right away but our table was really lacking and we didn’t have a view of anything but bushes. If they could be trimmed a little lower, the entire ocean could be in full view. We requested another table but the hostess stated that this is where the next rotation was being seated. However, the live acoustic music in the background was beautiful and welcoming. The menu was a real let down, it had very few option and all of which had to be “enhanced” which is just another upcharge. I ended up selecting a salad, “enhanced” with chicken for more than $36. It was good, but not great. The rib-eye was AMAZING, probably the best we’d ever had. The sear was perfect and the glaze delicious. It was just a piece of meat unless you “enhance” it. So we “enhanced” a side of garlic fries. Meh. Dinner for two was over $130 not including the tip and we both left not quite full. Our server was very attentive and kind, she really did a great job. The hostess and the busser were loud and a little obnoxious in their conversations, but we were literally sitting right by them. When the tables were being cleared, chairs were dragged, dishes were loudly stacked. It reminded me of a bustling cafe than fine dining. Patrons and families walked through with bathing suits and beach gear. It was all just a little off, not the atmosphere we were anticipating. More than likely, we won’t be back. Parking: Gated and secure parking.
The Cheeseburger was cold and overcooked with a thin patty. Wendy's beats it! The lobster grilled cheese was sent back because the meats was dry, rubbery, tough and the lobster flavor was suffocated by other ingredients such as spices and cheese. One bite sent it back. The salad ingredients were poor. The stale croutons should not have been plated. The lettuce was old and cucumber flaccid. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water but that doesn't make up for the poor food. With Cheeca Lodge being such an exclusive 4 plus star resort, we expected much better.
