Taverna Mezedofolia - Irakleion

My friends and I came here to drink. 4 hours later we drank with the owner felix and his wife maria. they are beautiful restorers, in the position to welcome them to their world. it was a pleasure to meet her. here we have the chance to taste a lot of typical recipes and aromen it, they will not regret it, guaranteed! Not least: maria is a fine artist who puts passion not only in food but also in painting. in the restaurant there is an exhibition room full of art works. they are breathtaking. Finally, they come here if they like good food, good people and if they like art matters.

I spent a lovely week on Crete and stayed at Amazona Apartments (same owner), so it was easiest for me to just walk out of my apartment and into Mezedofolia. But it being close was not the only reason I came to eat here almost every night: the restaurant/bar is nicely furnished and you can just feel that a lot of love was put into making this a place where you can feel right at home. Also the owners Maria and Felix add to the charm, they are lovely people that make you feel welcome whenever you show up, Maria is a true artist, her beautiful pictures decorate the whole place and she even has a little gallery in the restaurant. The food is great, it is prepared fresh and you can taste that! The fish is amazing and so is the Moussaka and of course the Meze (Greek Tapas), also do try the Seafood Pasta! I will definitely be back to Agia Pelagia and Mezedofolia! I already miss Maria and Felix!

The restaurant is super nice and cozy, the food is amazing (really the best moussaka in town!! And the owner is the kindest person in Agia Pelagia Felix is an amazing host and his wife is a great cook and also artist!! We ate super good and had a wonderful time, more than recommended!!

One of the best places to eat in this opposite. they must go there for the friendly people, the beautiful atmosphere and the tasty eating. and of course a beautiful desert at the end. we enjoyed our time with felix!

I love this restaurant and the art gallery! it is a really beautiful place for young and old. the art is very beautiful and worth buying! I can recommend this place for everyone. the owners and workers are so beautiful and beautiful. Drinks and food are very good and the prices are affordable. Thank you!
