Whenever my husband and I visit Ipswich Clam Bake, the food is outstanding and always prepared just the way we like it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys seafood! They deserve 5 stars!

The food here is excellent and of very high quality! However, I've encountered some issues when placing orders over the phone. They ask for your credit card information, so if you prefer to pay with cash, you'll need to go into the restaurant to place your order. This has happened to me multiple times. They also inquire if you'd like to leave a tip, which I find a bit uncomfortable. I usually tip generously when dining in, but I don’t see the need to do so for takeout, even though I feel pressured to agree when they ask. I wish they would skip that part. Nevertheless, the food is absolutely fantastic!

Ipswich Clambake offers consistent and *YEAR ROUND* New England seafood classics. You can eat in or take to go (during the pandemic they adopted curbside pickup service give them your order and card number by phone and they’ll come out to your car with your food). Their service and promptness is excellent whether eating in or taking out. And they’re open year round AND take credit card!! Who else can say that? Their clam chowder is great, as are all the fried seafood items (though I tend to order the shrimp most).
