Pullman Diner - Iowa City

We had lunch at Pullman on June 3, 2023, and were impressed to see that they have managed to enhance the already outstanding dining experience that we have enjoyed for years.

This restaurant has more of a diner atmosphere than a bar. They have a limited selection of draft beers that are priced higher than usual. The outdoor seating area looked appealing. The food is prepared right behind the bar where customers sit. The restaurant felt a bit cramped inside. Their specialty dish is fried chicken, which is decent but may have a slightly heavy crust.

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are fantastic. The Frisco sandwich is the best we've ever had. I recommend sitting at the bar so you can interact with the great staff. We traveled 180 miles just to eat here and it was worth every mile.

The food is nice and the service was great. I have challenge parking because it the lunch time, so I waited for someone to leave before I found a space, and it would be nice to park on the capitol ramp and walk down about 3minutes. Also, tell them ahead about the quantity of salt you want.

This was a great place! Very cozy and the food was amazing and generous servings. We had freshed squeezed orange juice, croque madame, and a banana-walnut pancake.
