Coal Miners Cafe - Inverness Canada

Saturday 11. March I decided to go from Sydney to Inverness on arrival we decided to go to Coal Miners Cafe for a bite to dinner. When entering a very dated building, we met the server we decided to take a seat at the end of the dining room near the kitchen. The server I have to say was not very nice that we had no very warm welcome when we arrived. Order time, so she took the order and went away to it with the kitchen staff who, of course, was only a cook. The order came in good time and was hot, the food was great no problems there, but we had to go to ketchup salt, etc. at a point where I felt I even had to get my own drink. I was quite disappointed by my experience, especially from Sydney coming 1.5 hours away. The interior of the dining room was quite cool and I felt that I needed a sweater a few times while I tried to enjoy the food. The waitress spent more time worried about the young man at the bar instead of the males in the dining room. If you are looking for a food that has convenient seating and great service, this is unfortunately not the place. Hopefully things will change in the summer and we can try again, but now it was very disappointing.

Tried to figure out if they were open. Website had no information. Google said they were open, but when we called there was no answer and no voice message. If it’s off-season they’re probably not open based on my experience.

The breakfast menu is both hearty and affordable, with prices ranging from CA$10 to CA$20 per person. One standout dish was the Coal Mining Large Breakfast, which was not only plentiful but also delicious. If you're looking for a satisfying start to your day, this place is definitely worth a visit!
