Hen House Cafe - Inverness

Charming, family-style diner. We've really enjoyed our breakfasts here! The service is outstanding! If you’re ever visiting the Inverness DMV or courthouse, this diner is conveniently located nearby. We recently stopped by again, and I just had to try the pancakes. They were absolutely scrumptious and definitely worth every one of those carbs!

Close the doors and grab some soap and water to clean this establishment, including the mouth of the incredibly rude hostess or owner. The clueless waitress, who seemed inebriated, added unexpected charges to our bill, including an extra fee for using a credit card. There were no signs informing us of these fees, nor did the disheveled waitress mention anything about them. There are more transparent ways to present a bill. When I inquired about these trivial charges, I was told it’s a common practice. Is it really so typical to impose additional fees without customers’ knowledge? Is this how you expect to sustain a small business—by hoping customers won’t notice? It’s truly a shambles. To sum it up, this place is just a hen house—fit only for the birds.

I’ve been visiting Hen House for many years now, and I still love my favorite dish, liver and onions. The staff is friendly and quick to serve. I would definitely recommend Hen House to anyone!
