Bidrage med feedbackStops for a quick cuppa and a scones and ended up trying from the delicious cakes in the offer. bought a beautiful sponge cake, the butter cream and jam filling was really nice. also had a digested, the baked was cooked for perfection and the strawberries/cream/Jam combo was for dying. very recommend the caffe. on the actual garden center, inside was a lot of gifts for all age groups and all bags. there are some beautiful plants and I would not have been on the bus tour I would definitely have bought some for my garden. unfortunately I have no photos from the actual garden center.
The garden centre itself has loads of crafty items for sale, might be a good place to find unique gifts. What really sells this place is the restaurant. It's amazing, with a huge choice of food and loads of seating, including outside areas. A great place to stop or visit for lunch.
Always have a huge range of plants, indoor and outdoor. They also have home wares and gift sections so it ticks all those boxes. The cafe is nice, quite big and with a good selection. Only issue with Cardwell Gardens as a whole is that it can be quite pricey.
I always enjoy a visit to this garden centre due to the variation of items on view. There is a large cafeteria with the usual mixture of hot cold food available. On my visit the staff were falling over themselves to help. It's worth noting that unusually the place wasn't too busy so we got through the selection checkout pretty quickly. (I suspect that when busy it could take a bit longer). The only downside is the coffee is never as hot as I think it should be (this is only my opinion) but being a bit shy I never complain so really I am the one with the problem.
I have used this garden centre for many years. This time I went to buy some herbs, tomato and cucumber plants, most of which are doing well, but one of them needs some TLC and either the birds or the slugs in my garden got all the coriander! Not the fault of the garden centre! The garden centre is well laid out with plenty of space to move about. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is a large carpark with an overflow too, so it is no problem to load your car. When we were there the car park was fairly busy but there was a distinct absence of shoppers within the garden centre area. Obviously the tea room here is a big attraction. Like other garden centres Cardwell has had to diversify over the years to survive.
