Huerta's - Indio

Excellent Mexican food at a good value. If you crave authentic Mexican food, atmosphere and are patient (don't be in a rush and accept your server may or may not speak fluent english) then enjoy this fine restaurant.

This meal was fantastic! I have to start by praising the table salsa and chips—they were a solid 10! They had a slight sweetness to them, a nice level of heat, and were incredibly tasty. Simply excellent. My wife ordered the shrimp quesadilla, while I went for a combo plate with a taco and cheese enchilada. Combo plates can sometimes be a bit of a cop-out, but this one was outstanding, with generous portions. I would definitely return just for the salsa alone. The shrimp and homemade tortilla were amazing. The menudo looked delicious as well, so I think I'll try that on my next visit.

The food was mid. It felt like it needed flavour. It takes about 5 minutes for the waiter to come. 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. 40 for the food to arrive. The place is fine the quesadillas are huge. The food is really expensive. Most things are about 20 dollars. Not worth it. Will never be back.

Went here after golf cause we didn't know other places. With the blacked out doors and windows it doesn't look much but the food is solid. Shrimp enchiladas were good, about $15 and good portions. Draft pint about $6. Salsa was really good. Nice service.

STAY AWAY Visited a few years back and everything was fine? Arrived last night and we were seated? Asked the waitress if she could change the channel on the TV to watch our favorite football team and she said that only the manager could do that and he had left for the night? Then we waited for 15 minutes for her to return and she finally brought some chips? We then ordered a margarita which arrived another 20 minutes later?The chips were stale and the salsa was hot and runny? she reappeared after another 15 minutes and we ordered our food and by then we had been there for 45 minutes? We asked for more chips and she gave us a funny look and said OK? The second basket of chips arrives 10 minutes later?we asked her how things were going and she rudely stated that there were only two waitresses there and we should not expect any faster service?the food finally arrived after being seated for an hour? Our waitress was rude and made no reference to the slow service? Never again will we return!
