I've been visiting Wheatley for about fifteen years, transitioning from my youth into adulthood, and I've never been disappointed. Their cookies and gravies are phenomenal—while they may not surpass my homemade versions, they're still fantastic. The second place I enjoy is Murphy's in Arlington and Thompson. I've never been let down by the food or the staff; my loyalty lies solely with All Saints, Home, and Good Land Food. I highly recommend Wheatley to anyone in search of delicious food and the warmth of a small-town atmosphere. God bless Wheatley, and thank you for reading this!
Food was really great! The staff was slowly warming up on us (IYKYK), but after a little small conversation etc., they facilitated themselves and the experience was pleasant. I definitely go back, especially to taste their desserts.
I can’t bring myself to give any stars. Those positive reviews seem to come from friends and family doing favors, not from genuine customers. I’m willing to walk in and order food to see if their unpleasant attitude matches the atmosphere of the restaurant. I’m not usually apprehensive about trying new places, but their behavior suggests they may be uncomfortable serving people outside of their own circle. Wanamaker deserves better than this, while Wheatley’s seems set in its ways and unwilling to adapt. This place feels like a quick stop, not a welcoming restaurant experience.
One on my favorite local places to go eat the staff is friendly and they have really good fried chicken that they only do on Sundays and and hand breaded fish frys on Fridays
