Steak N Shake - Indianapolis

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. When I tried to get a drink from the self-service machine, the manager accused me of not paying. I tried to show her my receipt proving my purchase, but she was insistent on causing a scene. She loudly read the order screen to me, even though my drink purchase was not shown on it. If she had just checked the receipt, we could have avoided this whole situation. Her behavior was completely unprofessional and I felt sorry for the staff who have to deal with her attitude every day. I will not be returning to this restaurant if this is how they treat their customers. It's ridiculous that they don't have a self-service machine if they are so concerned about potential theft, as it only causes embarrassment for everyone involved.

The food was good. the service was slow to get the food out and the person who takes us away to hurry. Once we said an article before we could get the next one out of the mouth, it was like, everything else we would have to be and then say the next. as soon as we get the next article he said again, everything else we hate it as customers. I thought I'd give you a head when we stop ordering, they can say something else. but not as soon as we say an article. trust me when I say no one wants to be hurried. there was no one in front of us or behind us. no need to ask for any item. I'll tell you when I'm done, if I take 10 seconds off, they can ask. Stop asking for any article. pretty sure the administration also took our order. he wore not the basic uniform they do. make them better on the ordering and faster on the drive waiting the time, or explain them, it could be a little longer if they are short staff, and everything would be great. You would have actually got 5 stars from me if you didn't say anything else after any article we ordered. that's really annoying. in general, my man goes away when that happens. Do better and you will get better stars next time. thanks in advance!

Ordered the double meal, paid the $1.99 charge for the chili. my order comes up and they have no crackers! I would have saved the $1.99 and got the rid of it. super disappointing, excuse them, they don't want anything else. just a star.

The food was excellent at this restaurant. The onion rings were perfectly crispy and the burger was cooked just right. The Oreo shake was incredibly delicious. My only complaint is that I had to wait 5-10 minutes for sauce that I had to buy, while it is typically provided for free at other restaurants.

Worker in the dining room knew I was there before other people, but instead took the order of people who came in after me. (No self order kiosks at this location.)Didn't plan to, but through circumstances wound up at another Steak N Shake. Ordered 5 Way Chili, and got no utensils to eat it with. When I asked for some, was only given a spoon. Asked for three packs of oyster crackers, got 1.I had been wanting to dine in since the pandemic closed their dining rooms, but they aren't the same.
