Bidrage med feedbackFirst time to the Rock Hill Main Street area. Nice place to hang out with cute little shops and old town atmosphere. Among several coffee shops we stopped at Amélie’s for a bite and a sweet treat. It was worthy. Appealing to young and not so young with areas to plug in and to relax. Food was despite the tomato bisque having too much pepper for my taste. Ah! But the desserts…. Worth dying for. I had to take some more to go. Not to be boomer, but someone should make sure that the silverware is 100% clean.
The aesthetic is quite good, and the staff was quick with our order and friendly. The food, however, was positively mediocre. Not bad, but absolutely not worth a regular stop. I ordered a croque monsiuer and it came with absolutely stone cold bechemel sauce. My daughter got the kids french toast, which was basically just sticks of dry toast with flavorless syrup. Amelie's is not awful, there is always something to enjoy about it, but it is positively not worth the price when so many good restaurants are surrounding it.
What a delightful place! Quirky yet elegantly decorated. In an old bank. Unfortunately there is only 1 person to take your order and it seems like everyone in line had questions. The food came out pretty quick and was very good. The bacon was amazing. The dark roast is pretty strong. The strawberry something lemonade was really sweet. I’m really glad we don’t live closer as I would be here all the time trying all the pastries.
The worst excuse for French Toast I have ever had. See the photo I have included. They literally toasted sandwich bread in a toaster (no egg batter was used) and served it with powdered sugar and syrup. Terrible.
I really am not one to write a review but I was really disturbed today. Came here with my two boys. Ordered, sat down to wait on our food and it took 35 mins. We ordered a plain turkey sandwich and a croissant with chicken salad. Everyone was look around for there food waiting just as long as we were. It was busy but nothing crazy. What really bothered me was that the manager I'm assuming was walking around doing inventory!!!!! Not helping her staff. People were waiting FOREVER. She had no care in the world. Didn't stop what she was doing. Just walking around with a clipboard counting things while her staff were running around. I just don't understand. We could have went to a sit down restaurant and left by the time we got our food there. Also. The food was terrible. The plain sourdough turkey sand had been cut in half and had all kinda of spread all over it from where they cut it I guess. My son who is so picky didn't want to even eat it. Such I bad experience I will never go back. I wish i had a picture if the food we waited over 30 minutes for.
