Bidrage med feedbackI wasn't in Independence KS 2 months age. So couldn't have gone there. Maps app is crazy.
Beautiful scenery and good food but be prepared for a long wait
This restaurant closed permanently on June 29th, 2019. We enjoyed coming here occasionally. We're sad it closed, because Independence has few regular American food restaurants.
The steak was prepared medium rare as I ordered however, it was tough which was odd for a medium rare steak. The cut was a ribeye which typically is not a low grade cut. The salad that came with my steak was good and fresh. The baked potato was by no means a large potato but was only .99 to order loaded which was nice, and the meal came with two sides and a small loaf of very tasty bread so there was more than ample amount of food. This was a date night for my wife and I so we planned on ordering an adult beverage with our meal. No alcohol at this restaurant. We did not base our experience on this finding because it just wasn't that big of a deal. I do typically order a draft with my steak when I get this opportunity though. There was a live pianist which was very pleasant and played very well. My reasoning for 3 stars was based on my steak being tough. It was very well seasoned and flavorful and honestly looked perfect as far as medium rare goes in presentation. I could have sent it back but I did not do that because I'm not sure it was the cooks fault as much as it was just a bad run of a typically decent cut of meat. The waiting staff was all very nice and the establishment was clean and had a nice atmosphere. If the steak had not been tough I would have given it an easy four stars. It's just odd to get a ribeye that is medium rare and tough in the same note.
Definitely our go to restaurant when we are in Independence. Had the best Chicken Parmesan ever there tonight. Their house salad dressing is the best around as well.
