The Court House Exchange - Independence

We were looking for a place that had out door seating and came across Court House Exchange. We were traveling across country from Florida with our little dog and needed a place where she would be welcomed. Even though they were not serving in the out door area they accommodated us! Super awesome staff (yes, talking about you Jodi)! The food was great, my Buffalo Chicken Salad was very good and my friend said his Court House Exchange burger was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Chicken fried steak was tough as jerky. Mashed potatoes room temp.

I used to love coming here. We left the previous time about 6 months ago because they had no service staff. This time, food quality has gone downhill and prices have skyrocketed. Most things are $14-$16. Few customers at prime time dinner. I can't see how this place will survive without some changes.

Great atmosphere and food. Friendly service. I had the fish and chips which was very good.

We went a few years ago and it was really good. Went today and things have really seemed to change. They removed many of their favorites. I ordered their special of the day, fish and chips and there was a pool of grease at the bottom of my plate, when I picked up one piece of fish grease poured out! Our waitress was standing at our table watching this happen. I used THREE large napkins to soak up all the grease from just 1 of the pieces of fish! Very disappointing for $16
