Tunnel Creek Cafe - Incline Village

We dined at this restaurant on April 7th. When we received our bowls to go, we noticed they were only about two-thirds full. Upon calling the restaurant, they admitted that the cook had likely omitted the eggs from the original recipe and did not replace them with something else. The employee did not offer any compensation for the inconvenience, so I asked them to pass along my message to the owner and provided my contact information. We never heard back from them, so we decided not to return. However, we later found out that the restaurant has new owners and a new menu, which may be less vegan-friendly. Despite there not being any vegan options on the breakfast menu, they were able to make a veganized sweet bowl for us, which was delicious with avocados, three types of potatoes, refried and black beans, plenty of bell peppers, and sweet beets, all perfectly seasoned. We added fresh salsa, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavors. We would love to return for lunch and hope they will consider our feedback and possibly offer more vegan options in the future.

We attempted to hike the flume trail and discovered that the bike rental/shuttle location offered a vegan burger at a small café. Upon closer inspection, we found several other vegan options, including a delicious hummus wrap that was even better than the burger. They offered 4 different plant-based milk options for coffee, and happily accommodated our request for oat and soy milk in our drinks. The menu also included simple breakfast items like oats and avocado toast, as well as vegan snacks and vegetarian dishes that could be made vegan by omitting cheese. They had 8 different types of beer as well. This café is located in a part of Tahoe where vegan options are hard to come by, so we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of options available.

This restaurant is excellent for breakfast, coffee, beer, sandwiches, and lunch - everything they offer! The service is also top-notch. Highly recommended.

The vegetarian bowl was amazing. So a sweet place to eat a bite before you go on the way. I'll be back when I visit Tahoe again.

The food was delicious, the staff was very welcoming, and I appreciated being able to refill my water bottles at the water station.
