Deb's Cookie Jar - Imperial Beach

I didn't go to Deb's. I tried the Dark Side cookie, which is a chocolate chocolate chip cookie! I also wanted a peanut butter cookie, but they were sold out by the time I arrived. I also had an edible.

Deb is possibly the friendliest person I've met since arriving in California. I stumbled upon her bakery by chance while driving home one day. It's a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. The cookies are simply amazing, with a variety of flavors to choose from. The dark side cookie is a must-try, with rich chocolate flavor that isn't overly sweet. However, the real standout at Deb's bakery is the cupcakes. They are hands down the best I've had in years. The cake is light and not overly dense like many homemade cakes, and the buttercream frosting is so delicious I could eat it by the spoonful. Deb's bakery is definitely a hidden gem in Imperial Beach.
