The Portside Cafe - Ilwaco

I enjoyed my visit. Initially, I thought this place was the only option available, as everything else seemed to be closed on a summer Monday. However, now that I've been here, I can confidently recommend it for lunch. The menu features sandwiches and pizza, with a minor emphasis on seafood, which is typical for a coastal town. I was in the mood for something Canadian, so I opted for a small pizza that was on special—two toppings for $8 (normally $8.50). I chose Canadian bacon and pineapple. I know, I know—pineapples aren’t grown in Canada! Regardless, my pizza was ready in about 10 minutes, and it turned out to be much larger than I anticipated, generously topped with toppings and cheese. I ended up eating three slices (I didn’t really want the third, but I didn’t want to waste it either) and ended up asking for a takeout box for the leftovers. Unfortunately, I went out into the wilderness afterward and had no way to keep it cool, so I had to throw it away anyway. Nonetheless, it was a substantial portion. The staff was cheerful and helpful, and the dining area was clean, if not particularly fancy. Overall, this is a recommended lunch spot just outside the city.
