Bidrage med feedbackHave avoided Chefs Gallery as I thought it may be over ratedHowever, me and my dining companions were thoroughly impressed.
Those mid-priced masters of contemporary Chinese have taken their Hurstville store back to its roots.
It's hard to get excited about Chinese food in Hurstville because of the abundance of ho-hum eateries, but Chefs Gallery is definitely an exception. The food is always fresh, and the added bonus of watching the chefs at work through the open kitchen is a welcome one.Come here for the dumplings especially as they are always superb, while their modern interpretations of classics such as the duck fried rice are excellent.
I’ve been to Chefs Gallery in Darling Harbour but the Hurstville branch will always be my preferable choice. The dining area is more intimate, relaxing, and the best part is not having to line up for food. Ever. Chef’s Gallery is one of the very rare Chinese restaurants I visit. The venue is clean, staff is professional, see-through kitchen, and delicious food is present in the most exquisite way. The fact that the food is not as oily and has subtle taste make you almost forget that you’re eating Chinese food. My favourite item is spinach hand-made noodles. The seasonal cocktails are refreshing! Such a shame that they replaced this branch to a Korean BBQ restaurant. Why
They have just updated their menu. The new menu removed a lot of dishes and also added some new dishes, most of which are spicy. The Hurstville outlet is right outside the Westfield, next to the train station. To get to the restaurant you'll have to walk down stairs. [Dishes] #Silken Tofu# is a traditional Chinese dish, and a majority of Chinese like. Tofu is cold, and refrigerate. #Peach pork belly with spicy sauce# is a new spicy cold dish. The pork meat is cut into very thin slices. And they have spicy sauces at the top of the meat. I would recommend if you like spicy food. #Spicy crab# is not so good because the crab meat is not as much as what we expected. The price is a little high, and most of the dish is the crab shell. [Drink and Dessert] #Lychee and Mango juice# is perfect drink especially when you are eating something spicy. It can cool down your mouth with fresh mango juice. #Eggy bun# is lovely and cute, which looks like emoji expressions. The egg filling is nice and sweet. #Rice ball# is another traditional Chinese dessert. Rice ball tastes sticky with something like sesame stuff surrounded. Overall the new dish is cheaper and affordable. It's a great and casual Chinese restaurant, best to go with friends or with family.
