Bidrage med feedbackIf it weren't for the American accents, we would have thought we were in the heart of London. What a fantastic British pub! Everything about it felt authentic. We were absolutely delighted by the atmosphere, the service, and the variety of food and drink available. They had several unique specials that all looked incredible, but we chose two classic British dishes: Bangers and Mash and Fish and Chips. Both were the best we've ever tasted. We can't wait to return and try everything else on the menu. And don’t miss the Monty Python Holy Grail Pale Ale – it’s by far the best British ale I've ever had. Cheers!
To start, we shared an order of chips (fries), and they were fantastic! They seemed to be fried in duck fat, which added an extra layer of flavor. My brother requested some of their homemade tartar sauce for dipping, and after trying it, I could see why—it was the best tartar sauce I've ever had! For my main course, I chose the Toad in the Hole, which wasn't quite what I expected given my American palate. It was served fresh and piping hot, with a generous portion. The sausage had great flavor, and the Yorkshire pudding was an interesting new experience for me. I did wish the onion gravy had a bit more richness, though. My brother ordered the Scotch eggs, and they looked incredibly tempting, but they were devoured before I could ask for a taste. He assured me they were delicious! A few additional notes: the service was very good, and the coffee Americana was excellent. I also checked out the little store and butcher shop upstairs, which I found quite interesting. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices on the fresh meats they offered!
The service at the restaurant was excellent; both our hostess and waiter were very friendly and accommodating. We experienced about a 15-minute wait for Sunday brunch, which we didn't mind because it was to be expected, and it gave us a chance to explore their gourmet food options and butcher shop located upstairs. We ordered from the specials menu, selecting a steak and eggs dish along with a steak sandwich and chips. While the food was a bit underwhelming, we still had a pleasant experience overall. The only downside was the wait time. We don’t mind waiting for a freshly prepared meal, but we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, followed by an additional 45 minutes for our food to arrive. So, if you have the time and enjoy English pub food, this place could be right up your alley. Also, I wouldn't say it's the most kid-friendly environment due to the wait and overall atmosphere, unless you plan to dine outside.
Great food at good prices. The beer options were also top notch and of course the atmosphere was right where it needed to be on a weekday night. If you get there before 5:30pm you'll have your choice of seats but anytime after there could be a wait.
This place is awesome. My wife and I got the 40oz tomahawk. It was cooked to the perfect temp that we requested. The seasoning on the steak was simple salt and pepper, but the crust was awesome. One of the head chefs came and carved it table side and ensured that every piece was perfectly cook before putting it on our plates. The sauce they served with it only highlighted the taste. Highly recommend and would go back.
