Bidrage med feedbackI was part of a 40th Birthday Celebration on Saturday September 9th that was greeted by a man that didn’t bother introducing himself but rather told us that we weren’t welcome at the brewery because of a phone call from the previous brewery stop. The information that was given to him was false, but he didn’t bother asking any questions about that. After a brief discussion it was agreed that we could stay as long as we “behaved since this is a family establishment”. We stayed for a bit then left. I personally won’t be back since there’s better breweries in the area.A brewery is not a “family establishment”. It can be “family friendly” and yours is when the weather is nice, with a large outside area for the kids to run all over the place while the parents drink. Even in front of the food delivery cars that had to stop in order to not hit them. But don’t worry about that, let’s worry about the bus group that’s literally doing nothing but spending money in your “family establishment”.The only reason you decided to “let us stay” is you saw the amount of people we had and then you saw signs.
Tried to responsibly celebrate my 40th birthday with friends, on a bus with a driver, at some of our favorite breweries. As our group started getting off the bus we were greeted by the owner with a you 're not welcome here . Full disclosure, the previous brewery we were at called this brewery to tell him we 're unruly and making a mess. Couldn 't be further from the truth. We participated in their activities, were never asked to leave, despite having one sick person in the bathroom, that did not make any mess bc that 's what flushing is for. Ends up being food poisoning. The owner of sew hopd said he doesn 't care if we ever come back which is such a mature way to speak to people in your community who hadn 't even stepped foot in your brewery. We had ordered lunch that was already being delivered there. He said eat it and then you need to leave. I asked why we were being treated this way and he told me what kishwaukee brewing had told him and I said that 's not how we 're acting and we 've been here awhile. We 're too old to cause problems, we just wanted to have fun. He did apologize and said we could stay but I felt like a kid being told I can come out of timeout. Do better.
Just stop, take a seat, and order a John Boy Pils. I always start with that…and then never want to leave. Matter of fact, I’m going to order a flight.
Both Hazy IPA's on tap (Hey Hey Hazy and Needles Hazy Eye P.A. were very good representatives of the NEIPA style. I was equally happy with both. Sonic Hop'd is an excellent Imperial IPA that has honey to really enhance the overall flavor. Outstanding beers all around. Great atmosphere.
A wide variety of beer from stouts to sours to ipas. All the beer is solid, and not really over the top. The staff are friendly, and the regulars are a hoot. Also, the outdoor patio is in full view of the sun which is nice to soak up that vitamin D.
