Bidrage med feedbackFirst visit ever. Lived in Huntington for a short time years ago, but never knew anything about this place. Came to town with my daughter for funkfest at Ritter Park, and this is the closest place that 's not McDonalds, so we gave it a shot. I honestly didn 't expect much as it looked like a version of Steak N Shake, but we were pleasantly surprised. We got a small hamburger, fries and drink for my daughter and I got a buffalo chicken philly, made the way I wanted, with extra onions, pickles, cheese and jalapeños, a baked potato and a drink. All for under $14. The price is good, but wouldn 't be impressive if the food wasn 't good. My daughter said her burger was awesome, and my sub was delicious. The baked potato was also perfectly cooked. I see some people complaining about the price, and saying they could have gotten better at Wendy 's. First, this is a locally owned store, and not a giant franchise (in fact, a quick Google reveals its one of three of this namesake left in the country). So they 're not buying things by the bazillion, so of course they can 't compete penny for Penny with a giant mega-corporation. I, for on, like Wendy 's too. But as far as my daughters little Ritsy meal, it is $4.53, with tax, and that 's not bad, even compared to Wendy 's, and it 's a better kids burger. I don 't know where these people eat, but if they think THIS is expensive I imagine they eat at the Speedway down the street too much. All in all, the staff was friendly and the food was fresh, made right in front of us, and tasty. I was also inexpensive. Good job. P.S. she went back for ice cream, $1.99 for a kids cup. Nice portion. I wasn 't all that impressed upon tasting he chocolate ice cream, but she loved it, and again, $2 is reasonable. These people need to feed their kids too. If you can 't afford THIS, maybe you shouldn 't have kids, or don 't eat out?! My daughter, upon getting a refill on her soda upon leaving and before we headed to the park, told the lady that she loves their burgers. She said 'well thank you, we get fresh hamburger delivered every day now. '
I now live in NC, but was back in Huntington for a few days and had to have the pulled pork because in NC it's made with vinegar. Yuk! It was so nice and warm, and the bun was warm too because it was wrapped in foil to keep it that way. I know the owner and he saw me and sat with me for a while so we could catch up.
I had a good experience. The staff was friendly, the food was good and the portions were generous. I wish there were more locations, but I'll do my best to stop by the next time I'm in the area.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent customer service and the best Philly cheesesteak around! The 1940 style burgers are awesome, the double ritz with cheese add bacon is amazing! Everyone loves the shoe string french fries and cheese sauce. I suggest you go today and bless your taste buds!
I live in Lexington. Stopped in GD Ritzy's for lunch while visiting my father at Cabell Huntington. Loved the atmosphere. Large portions. I'd visit often if I lived there.
