Bidrage med feedbackI won't be profess, California Food Savvy. Actually, I know it's not me. But I was lucky to visit my friend for a weekend and so I just did. Besides, although he is a native Minnesotan, he is also a boss/restaurant manager in Laguna Beach now, so he knows what he does. After the jetlag ran off my friend and I was ready for some adventures. Our first official food stop in the HB was the city of Tuna in downtown. We had no goal in mind, so we just chose a place where it looked like we could eat outside. Tuna town is a sushi bar and teppan yaki grill restaurant, but we did not participate. We just have their lunch/breakfast menu along with some dollar mimosas. Just what we needed. Our lunch was easy, but excellent. I have to say my hands down, best ham sandwich ever! In addition, all vegetables are fresh and the mimosas large... At this point, I almost thought of moving. My friend and I shared the ham and cheese sandwich. Served on a French role with salad, tomatoes, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled ham and this super brilliant spicy Mayo. Served with thin frits and one side of pimples. The bread was super soft and fresh and all vegetables were crispy and refreshing. There is never something wrong with ham, cheese or bacon, so I think it was the Mayo that made this sandwich. I'm not sure what was in it, but it had a kick and a really brilliant taste. Believe me, I'll try to revise this. To it from this sandwich was affordable (big part and well worth the 8 dollars. My friend has a basic BLT, but it looked fantastic. He added the optional avocado for a fee of fifty cents. It was fresh with many vegetables on whole grain bread and served with frits. For six bucks this was definitely a steal. The plus 6 mimosas for 6 dollars brought our sum to about $21. Can't say anything about the sushi or restaurant, but her ham and cheese was the best sandwich I had in a long time. I would tend to agree with others about the general atmosphere of the place (very "Clubby", but then again perhaps that is how California people roll. If someone asked me, Tuna Town is a good place for lunch, I'd say.
Tuna city is more like a place to hang and some cocktails with friends as a place to eat really big sushi. The emphasis was definitely placed in the clubby atmosphere and cocktail list as the food. The reels were good. But it was hard to eat when the music was so loud and the lights so dim.
