I was a REGULAR customer here since I moved to the Charlotte area. I stayed loyal with this Huntersville location because the staff was always so nice. A few months ago I ordered a call, followed all instructions given to me by the staff and unfortunately my order was still wrong. All orders are document through email so I had proof of what I asked for. I provided a picture and gave instructions on how I wanted the cake in regards to color and design. I gave a picture of a tall slender cake and what I received was not tall at all... it was literally a small cake! When I went to go pick it up, the young lady who gave it to me was so nice and I really appreciate her because I left out of Smallcakes Huntersville in tears. The cake was a little sentimental because it was for my best friend who has been fighting major health issues and this was the first time we celebrated her birthday in 4 years, and the response I got from management was disheartening. The employee working that day, I showed her what I submitted and the email threads between Smallcakes and myself and the first thing she said was, oh yea, that is not the same thing. Theo the manager there contacted me and long story short he pretty much said, it 's not your fault but it 's your fault. My biggest issue was the size of the cake and even after submitting the cake and speaking with 3 different people from this location before picking the cake up (I have all name, dates, and time I spoke with the employees) it was still my fault because I didn 't specify I wanted a taller cake in writing even though I told 3 other employees I want a taller cake and I submitted exactly what I wanted in pictures, a tall cake. But hey... it was my fault. I even asked for a nice message to be added to the cake and of course it wasn 't on there. Theo tells me how that was their mistake but it doesn 't warrant any compensation because it was just writing on a cake. I tried to ask for someone above him and he told me there was no one above him and later in our conversation he said he had to reach out to his manager to see how this situation should be handled, even though he just told me no one was above him. The situation was never handled, and I tried to contact the owner on several occasions and she never got back with me. Even tried getting in contact with her at her other NC locations. Unprofessional at the least. I 'm not trying to persuade anyone from ordering because regardless off this situation, Smallcakes as a whole is a thriving company but if you have management and staff the doesn 't care about customers, you 're making a bad name for the entire company and all other franchises included.

Nice little bakery cupcake shop.Sign on wall says 3.75 per cupcake however they charge 4.00 per cupcake. Not a big deal just fix your sign.Lemon drop looks and tastes nice.

Ordered my birthday cake from here and was very satisfied. The cake decoration was exactly like the photos I sent them. It was ready on time communication for ordering was very clear. The cake OMGGG the icing? Superb. The cake was so delicious and everyone at my birthday asked where the cake was from. I got chocolate with buttercream. It was flavorful but not too chocolaty for my friends who weren't a fan of chocolate. Highly recommend 10/10.

Most of it it ended up in the trash, it was about what you would expect from a grocery store cupcake. Flavors did not stand out from each other at all.
