The restaurant had a very authentic local ambiance, with no foreigners in sight. The menu was only in Vietnamese, so we used Google Translate to communicate. I ordered a bowl of soup noodles with tofu and mushrooms for 20,000. They didn't serve alcohol, but they gave us free iced tea. It was just a light meal that I needed while staying at Pilgrimage. Overall, it was a good experience.
Yes, while the portions may be smaller (except for the steamed rice, where one portion is enough for two), this allows you to sample more of the delicious dishes. We have visited this restaurant three times already and everything we've tried has been excellent. It's the best food we've had so far after spending three weeks in Vietnam. For two people, we typically share 3-4 dishes at each meal and have not paid more than 190,000 VND so far.
I decided to try this restaurant simply because it was the only option nearby with vegan options. Unfortunately, I found the prices to be quite high and the portion sizes to be on the smaller side. The pancake I ordered was excessively greasy.
Recent review. As tourism is opening up i was the only person there and had to call into the dark interior. Friendly and thoughtful service then kicked off. The dishes i had a vege rice combo with a side of miso soup and tea and a warm fig salad were both excellent (couldn't taste any fig). 80k dong total. Ask for the vietnamese menu with prices in dong (I think they have one). Frequented by monks. Updated from previous review on 2022 05 23
