Sozo Sushi - Houston

I had an incredible experience at Sozo. Initially, I called to check if they would be showing the Texans game, and they weren’t sure. However, when I arrived, they had reserved seats at the bar for my group right by the game. The manager was incredibly friendly. Now, onto the food and wine – delicious! The tuna tower was loaded with fresh tuna, and the plum wine was exceptionally smooth. I would return just for the stunning view of the Galleria, but I was truly impressed by the service and the food as well. It was fantastic!

The food was quite average. We ordered katsu curry, a sashimi and sushi combo, two special rolls, and a chirashi don. The katsu curry was mediocre; the katsu was a bit dry and could have used more moisture. The sushi rice was enormous, and the salmon was still cold and icy in the center. Additionally, the waitress forgot my rolls.

I visited on a Friday night and unfortunately, it seemed like they were understaffed, as it took about 20 minutes for someone to greet us. However, once our plates arrived, I was really impressed with both the presentation and the taste. Our server did his best, which we truly appreciated! I ordered the garlic edamame (which was decent but not the best), along with baos, gyoza, noodles, and a roll. I also tried the sapriousca (or however it's spelled), and I absolutely loved it! The happy hour menu looks fantastic as well, and I really appreciated the convenient parking garage. I would rate this place higher, but unfortunately, the service on the patio was slow.

Came here with my family for lunch on a Sunday morning and it wasn't very crowded. We had a very pleasant experience. The staff was nice and the food was great. Everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean, well presented and had overall good vibes. I would eat here again.

The food was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, everything was fantastic. We had the butterfly roll, the pink lady, and a california roll. 100% will be coming back for the butterfly roll.
