Rustic Oak - Houston

As a vegetarian, I'm pretty impressed with her menu. This is not a vegetarian restaurant, but there are a lot of options and for Brunch I was able to taste some of them. The quiche is amazing and cooked for perfection. Another of my favorites was the Jalapeno Löffelbrot. I gave only four stars for the service. Our waitress was not very informative and we spent a lot of time checking menu options that were not available. Except that we plan to revise in the evening to explore more of the menu. Entertainment was also pretty good, live country music on Saturday. This restaurant has a very local, open, Texas feeling.

We had a great time at this restaurant! The architecture of the place is stunning. We didn't have a reservation but parking was easy, and there is a parking service available if needed. There are outdoor seating options, but they were reserved for a private party. Our waitress was friendly, although a bit busy. We ordered Crab Cakes with Shells Cheese and Cedar Plank Salmon with green beans, both of which were delicious. The only downside was that the green beans could have been more flavorful. The live music doesn't start until 9 p.m., so we missed out on that. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.

Later... but that was a great experience. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff... We ate, drank and sat there for hours. It was in December, so it was cold, but they closed the big terrace doors after a while. It was delicious, and I would definitely go back.

We were greeted by our host, Janice, who was incredibly welcoming and beautiful. It was our first time at the restaurant and she greeted us with a smile and gave us some great dinner suggestions. Our server was attentive, although he did bring me the wrong salad, it was still delicious! I didn't mention it to him until I realized there was no jicama in it and I was already several bites in. The salad was fantastic and I couldn't stop eating it! We also had a big salmon dish cooked on a Cedar Plank, along with a mushroom dish that tasted like the best Fajitas ever! And let's not forget the Broccolini to top it all off. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, especially the lighting. We definitely recommend trying a musical night there! Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful dining experience. We hope to visit again soon!

The evening started if a bit rough as we had a large party and had to wait for majority to be there before we were seated…. People are always late lol so we ended up sitting at the bar until the rest of our party arrived….. at the bar I ordered fries and the meatballs both came out cold …. Dom our bartender got out a fresh batch (Dom you’re awesome) and they were delicious our party finally arrived I ordered the pork chop with the twice baked potatoes along with the banana pudding everything was delicious….. the banana pudding could’ve used more cookies and more layers of bananas and cookies.
