We had a carafe of Blood Orange Mimosa and a “Death in the Afternoon” a delicious blend of champagne, absinthe and lemon oleo. Apps contain popcorn shrimp and cinnamon zephyrs (thinky with cinnamon/sugar and caramel honey sauce). Entrees contain smoked salmon Avocado Toast and Hot Honey Chicken. Sooo delicious! Definitely on our Brunch Spot favorites list now. Oh! And best... wait! I love this place.
This place is always great, from drinks to dessert they are not disappointed. The chic Cornbread is delicious with cream fraiche and seasonal fruit that changes every few months. The grilled caesar salad (not shown) is really amazing with a crispyness and smokiness to the salad that is really different. The devils on the horse back are perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the date and the saltiness and skill of the bacon. The Pakistani crust fish were beautifully balanced with the brainness of the capers. Finally, the campfire sunshade should not be missed. It came with apple cake and pumpkin spice ice cream with grilled marshmallows, caramel and rugged Graham crackers. The service is amazing here and they are attentive without suffocating. Indianola is a standby for good food and good service!
Great food (in some cases it was just flat-out amazing) and really friendly service. Definitely recommend it, and receive advice from staff so that you go to their best, or further until you have tried everything. The Hornbrot was a real surprise!
We came too late to our hotel and looked for high quality food and boy we are lucky with Indianola! It is a chic small place where you can sit at a stand or at the cooking pass. There were many vegetarian and peskatarian options as well as meat dishes. The menu has many seasonal flavors. We both have the Gracias Adios cocktail with gin, lime and basil. It was such a refreshing cocktail at a hot night in July. The presentation and taste were great! I ordered the Hoja Santa Wrapped Grouper and the flavors were from this world. It came with grilled avocado, tomatoes, pickled vegetables and salsa. My friend got the Wood Grilled Chicken and said it was the right chicken he ever had. It came with fresh herbs and potatoes roasted in duck fat. It was incredible to get so much service and food in the last 10 o'clock! We will definitely return!
Sat at the bar on a Sunday night and we got the most amazing treatment from the kitchen staff and our awesome server! The food was amazing all around, cocktails and mocktails phenomenal and tasty, and the dessert was also so unique and one of a kind. We got the beech mushroom toast, duck far potatoes, and the iron skillet cornbread starters to share, and I got the Mesquite tri tip for the main course with a mocktail that I can't remember them name of. All were very large portions and we were all too stuffed by the end of the meal.... Well almost too stuffed but we ended up getting a dessert (can't remember the name! to share. I'm definitely adding this to my list of favorite places in Houston!
