Hull Oak Southern Kitchen - Houston

Had to wait to be seated even though there were only 3 other tables and 3 servers. Ordered a **** Mary, which btw took 20 minutes to get. I was told “they are making it”. After asking a 3rd time, was given the same response, watched one of the servers go behind the bar and make the drink. It was literally Zing-Zang and vodka. Very little vodka at that. No garnish anywhere, even though their website and in the sign located outside the hotel where the restaurant was located showed 3 types of **** Mary’s with lots of garnish. It was sooo spicy it was burning my stomach. I asked for some more mix. I ended up not drinking it and ordered a mimosa instead. The food was average. I had the shrimp and grits. Won’t be back!

The food was good, but the staff need more training. They have no idea how to offer service.

We were greeted and seated pretty quickly. We sat down and the server took our drink order. We then ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes and there was no sign of our food. We got up and left. Other people were walking in after us and getting their food. The restaurant was nice but the service was horrible. Never coming back

This Place is nice. They have DJ during brunch which provides a nice vibe. The food was rather sub par. They should go back to the drawing board on the menu selections. The staff was nice but it took some time to get seated. Overall I would visit again but wouldn't be my first choice for food.
