Flying Fish - Houston

Flying fish is THE BEST seafood restaurant. Period!! The salmon is perfect every time and the catfish is absolutely amazing. They have the best hush puppies as well. I love this place. Its my favorite!!

The food was good but I deducted a star because I didn't get what I ordered. They gave me the wrong plate. I didn't realize it until I was half way through the food and my friend asked didn't you order such ans such. I looked at the paper menu and saw that I didn't get the correct plate. This was our first visit. I let it go because I'd eaten the majority of the food and liked it. But it still wasn't what I ordered.

To be honest I thought this place was a gas station at first. This place is a hidden gem. The seafood is amazing and is reasonably priced. I was looking for pick up and go seafood restaurant in the area. Glad I stumbled upon the Flying Fish.

Very courteous and attentive to what we asked for we sat outside very decorative place and the food came out quick and was delicious first time trying and enjoyed ourselves!!

Definitely a place anybody should visit at least once, and then maybe more if you love it. We were so confused when the GPS brought us to some place that looks like a hole in the wall built from an old gas station. My daughter did not want to go in, but we're glad we did. Absolutely unique and adorable decor, lots of ambiance, lots of things to look at. They have a great menu and if we come back, would love to try some different things. We ordered the catfish and shrimp platter with a side of calamari. The shrimp were great, the catfish was pretty good but definitely needs more spices in the batter. Batter. The calamari was a little disappointing. Disappointing. Extremely overcooked and hard and dry, but I feel like that's pretty common in Houston so you might be okay with it if that's what you're used to. Next time, I definitely want to try the chowders or gumbo and some other dishes. Kids will love it and adults will too.
