Down House - Houston

Overall, the food was pretty good. We arrived shortly before graduation and during the holidays. Service was also good. The poutin fries a tad spicy, but good (we had to jump on the side. The pig bell was really good, beautiful texture and taste. The onions really complicate it. Shrimp n grits... the shrimp was not 'fish' n grits were the right consistency, dish was quite tasteful. . . SO liked it... overall recommended

This place was AMAZING. It wasn't super busy when we didn't wait so much. I absolutely loved our waiter. The food and cold press juice was DELIGHTFUL!!!

Went there for brunch, great food, we wanted everything on the menu! Their drink selection is great too! Really nice patio, definitely coming back!

Best chicken and waffles I've ever had. Easy. I've driven to Houston from Austin just to have them. Everything from the hot honey drizzled over crispy chicken to the sweet whipped cream on the waffle make it the perfect sweet and savory dish. The hash, in the other hand, is lackluster. More a stew than a hash. Service is always great and the atmosphere is nice. Plus it's in a great neighborhood. Wish I could walk here for lunch every now and then.

For the first time tonight. We had reservations, but arrived early. We immediately sat as tables. We had an excellent service. I have food allergies and all precautions have been taken to avoid polluting my food. We ordered drinks that were excellent. Appetizers that arrived in time and hot, and dinners that also arrived in time and hot. We ordered a bottle of wine that was quite expensive and properly poured. All 4 diners were happy about their selection. We had the pork chop special, chicken salad, chicken Milanese, and wedge salad and Mac and cheese. I saw the last reviews and was a little concerned, but our experience was excellent.
