Bungalow Downtown Dining - Houston

This is my second time at Bungalow. Still a very nice vibe with great service from the Hostesses And our waitress but I was not wowed by the food at all this time. The sides and appetizers were the best…we had Lobster Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts and the dynamite shrimp and pineapple jerk wings which were all good. Entrees were the Cajun Ribeye and whole fried snapper. Ribeye was okay. I personally didn’t care for the snapper. It comes highly recommended but I don’t understand the hype. I am already not a fan of whole fish cause of the bones but I decided to give it a try since folks rave about it and the waitress said it was good. IMO it was fried wayyy to hard and the flavor was just so so…I wouldn’t get it again. Drinks were good. This place is expensive so have your wallet ready. $30 to park on top of 20% automatic gratuity and the bill for two people was $327 before gratuity was added which brought it to $387. So roughly about $420 for 2 hrs of dining for 2 people. All in all it wasn’t a terrible experience but for the price I know there are better, less expensive options around and probably won’t be rushing back to Bungalow anytime soon.

Service was excellent, atmosphere was beautiful, great date night ambiance but food was mid.

The server Ja'nee was great and very attentive. I was a little disappointed in the temperature and timing of the food. A lot of the food was lukewarm and not as hot as I like it. I had the lobster tail and it was okay. The dipping sauce was a little sweet. A nice savory butter sauce would have been good with it. All in all it was a good experience.
