Bidrage med feedbackWe enjoyed beautifully presented sushi at a stylish hotel. During our stay at the Hyatt, we decided to dine at the hotel restaurant for our final evening. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary bread and opted for a large sushi platter to share. The standouts were the sashimi and the salmon seared in a flavorful sauce. The restaurant had a great selection of wines to accompany our meal. The atmosphere was cozy and it was not overly crowded on a Tuesday night.
During our hotel stay, we dined at the restaurant and were impressed with the service and variety of dishes available on the buffet. The food was all delicious. The only downside was that the restaurant didn't open until 7:00 A.M. and had a time-consuming seating process where each group had to be escorted to their table before accessing the buffet. This was a bit frustrating for our large tour group of almost 100 people, as we had an early departure time and had to wait in line for entry at 7:00 A.M. We also visited the bar one evening and had a great time chatting with the bartenders while enjoying our drinks. Overall, a fantastic spot for a relaxing drink or two after a day of exploring.
Fish quantity in sushi is ridiculous. Uncreative, violent flavor dishes. No bread has been offered although we had bread plates. Beef tartar sauce ruined the dish. Child dessert contained big whole nuts which were extremely dangerous choking hazard and an unedible, dish soap lemon sauce which left my child very unhappy. Manager didn't care we were unsatisfied. We don't mind if a good restaurant is overpriced sometimes but here it is unjustified and they also don't know anything about service experience and preserving returning clients. Also we caught them with overbilling a dish a different price than shown in the menu. The waiter was very nice. We will not come back. And we will stick to different brands than Hyatt.
Finding a good restaurant near Potsdamer Platz, the cinemas, and the Philharmonie can be a challenge, as many options are either touristy or fast food chains. Vox, located inside a 5-star hotel, offers high-quality sushi that is both fresh and delicious, although it comes at a higher price point.
Having dinner at the VOX lately was a really sad experience. After the end of several COVID lock downs going to the VOX restaurant was definitely on our to do list. However, it turned out that not only the menu and the quality of what was offered has gotten worse but also the service. We were clearly missing the inspiring composition of before COVID times. And the poor service surely did not make up for our poor experience.
