Cocina Del Gordo - Horseheads

Stopped here for early dinner after visiting Corning, NY. A 15 minute drive from the museum, nice place for a quick Mexican meal. Personnel was very attentive and food was delicious. Definitely a good pick to eat if you are looking for an economic (buttasty) eating option in the area.

Their food tastes great, it's usually served in a timely manner, and they have a nice little selection of bottled drinks. The place is a little small which means if anyone else is dining there you will undoubtedly hear their conversation with 100%clarity, and they will likely hear yours as well. Even then, for the size of the place the seating is surprisingly ample. Wouldabsolutely recommend to friends for a lunch out somewhere.

Fantastic food and large portions, tacos even come with sides! Restores my faith in NY cuisine. Closest thing I've gotten in upstate like home fairly priced tacos with well prepared meat and rich flavor. Even the tortillas are structurally sound,which is a low bar that few upstate establishments attain. Owners seem nice and undeserving of the coofer onslaught in thereviews, dunno if those customers were expecting a fine dining experience here or what. Some of these northerners just don'tknow a good taco when they see one. Definite recommend to everyone!

We visited Elmira and found this hidden gem Very nice lady owner and she went over all the menu items. They have all homemade items fresh daily made to order. Their steak is the best I was surprised with the burger as it was so good Taco Tuesday isgreat. Separate halal options

The tacos were okay, but the staff was rude, blank expression the entire time, and there?s signs posted all around saying ?do NOT take photos or videos of staff? ?do NOT do this? ?do NOT do that?. Off putting and not welcoming, kind of like thestaff. We were hoping to find authentic Mexican tacos but turns out the owner is a rude white woman. Edit* I also think it?sfunny how every other one star review here is about the same thing-The woman at the counter being rude. Then the responsescontinue to be rude? let?s see what we get.
