Bidrage med feedbackWhen we sat down at the restaurant, all the servers seemed to avoid coming to our table. Even after we had finished our first dish from the buffet, I had to get up and ask a server if someone could help us with drinks. There were at least three servers on our side of the room, which only had four tables to take care of!!! Finally, a server came over to take our drink order. However, she only returned to bring our drinks and then to bring our bill. When she returned to take our payment, I asked for refills, but the service was still very poor. P.S. As a side note, when I went up to the buffet, I had to bring my own water to the table because nobody helped us.
The restaurant was open, but as we had the place for us, it was still quiet. Not sure how loud it would be with other tables. Walleye Sandwich was nicely cooked and very tasty.
The noise level at this restaurant was extremely loud. I had a C-Suite executive visiting from our company in Minneapolis and we met for dinner. I had made reservations beforehand assuming he was with Marriott. Upon arrival, I was told that my reservation had taken up all the tables in the lobby area where I had hoped to sit. The waitress informed me that the restaurant was only open for breakfast, which was not communicated when I made the reservation. We ended up sitting at a high-top bar, with other patrons on one end and us on the other. The service was slow, and it felt like we were left to fend for ourselves. When our food finally arrived, the salmon on the salad was warm and the BBQ beef sandwich was cold. We ate what we could and decided to leave. We were handed the bill without being asked if we wanted anything else. Overall, this experience was disappointing and I will not be returning. I will also make it known to others not to choose this restaurant. Unfortunately for Marriott, our company has 19,000 employees and this experience may prevent them from having a second chance. It is a shame that the Marriott did not ensure the restaurant's operations were up to standard. I have a feeling that other customers were also put off by the lack of a proper dining area. After a long flight, one hopes for a good meal without having to leave the hotel. This experience did not meet those expectations.
Didn't know this was a restaurant in a hotel, or that's a buffet. Very disturbing that the restaurant staff did not get the open table booking - so there was no special table for us. I do not understand why this is available on the Blue Birch website. Anyway, the staff was very gracious, found us a table no problem, and made sure we were well looked after. The buffet was constantly filled, and the whole food was good. Beautiful selection of fruits, cheeses, etc. pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes were the hot foods. Oatmeal and Toast, Bagels etc were all there as sides.
My reservation through open table did not show up. Open table needs to post the fact that the main restaurant is closed until further notice. We were pointed past the restaurant and seated in a banquet room for my Wifes Mother's Day Brunch. Had we known this, we would not have booked and we were very disappointed in the fact that Open Table did not have this information and had outdated photos of the closed restaurant. I will say the occasion was somewhat salvaged by the service and most of the food. The manager on duty, the server and the cook at the action station were very nice and stayed on top of things. I would return once the main restaurant is opened. Otherwise this was a big let down after spending $200.00 for our Mother's Day to dine in a windowless banquet hall with giant circular tables. Shame.
