Bidrage med feedbackThis has been my son 's favorite restaurant since he was 2 years old. Every year on his birthday, this is where he wants to come. So on his 19th birthday we went to Tanaka of Tokyo (he used to call it Tanakia of Tokyo and they did not disappoint. The chef was amazing and even though the jokes have not changed much over the years, it is always an exciting show. I looked at my son when the chef did the volcano trick (layering the onion rings on top of each other with the shoyu bubbling out of the top and he had the same look on his face as he did when he was 2! Thank you, Tanaka of Tokyo, for always providing a fantastic experience, and wonderful food, for our family.
The food is always good but the chef you that is assigned to your table can be hit or miss on their entertainment value. We have been lucky with great entertaining chefs
The staff was friendly, professional accommodating as always. The one thing I found underwhelming was the hibachi vegetables. Green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms seem more like a steak garnish than a vegetable side. They charge about $30 for a keiki plate around $50 for an adult plate… to serve the cheapest vegetables… makes no sense. Stop being so cheap.
Our chef, Curtis, did a wonderful job of entertaining everyone at the table. Alexis was attentive, friendly and professional. Cody made sure everything went smoothly. The food was ono. The Wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious.
Our chef had a great personality and made it enjoyable. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was — as always — fresh and well-prepared, and they made some accommodations for my sensitivity to onions.
