Mama's Spaghetti House - Honolulu

Shrimp and squid fettuccine in garlic oil. Pasta undercooked and squid rubbery from overcooking.

I was not impressed with what I received the first time I ate here.The protein-to-pasta ratio was wayyy off IMO. Not nearly enough protein and tons of pasta. I also felt like they put way too much Alfredo sauce in my pasta as well. Did not make for a pleasant eating experience. For the price of the meal, I cannot recommend this place.

Ala Moana Shopping Center, you are literally the best shopping mall in America. Hands down. High end shopping amidst mid level retail stores and Target. Other malls have this too, but your real standout is your amazing food court(s), no other mall in America is like it. Case in point, Mama's Spaghetti House! Was tired of all the other options having been here so many times, but was always intrigued by Mama's Spaghetti House. I'll say my expectations were mixed, but I was hopeful and it definitely delivered! I ordered the Seafood Harvest with red and white sauce, added extra noodle. It wasn't cheap, but boy was it delish! Where else can a mall food court restaurant deliver a decent restaurant quality delish with actually some of the freshest seafood around clams, shrimps, mussels and calamari! You've got to be kidding me shut. the. front. door!!! The liquid from the seafood added so much extra flavor to the sauce. It was plenty of food, the extra noodle made the meal stretch further and interestingly the noodles tasted better the next day, as I say that about most pasta dishes... Glad to add this to my rotation of good, cheapish, eats here....

Wow~!! I went back to try the mini scamp italiano again and they had herb seasoning !! Now I'm wondering if the plate from my first review was just coincidentally herb less, because the plate from this updated review had tons of what I'm guessing might be oregano... and it tasted so much better!! Like always, the mushrooms shrimp were very high quality the sauce seemed less rich too... thank you so much for a delicious healthier meal~!!

Wow didn't expect good pasta from a food court but the seafood pasta was actually really good! The prices and the portion were amazing too for pasta! The wait time was very reasonable as well. I never thought of ordering Italian from a food court until I walked past someone eating it at a table. It looked legit so I decided to give it a shot. My pasta got few pieces of shrimp (with shell on). Even though I didn't enjoy the peeling part, I like how I can mix the head juices in my pasta! There was also some squid (ika) and mahimahi in it. The food came out piping hot and if it's served on a plate in a nice restaurant the price would definitely be much more inflated. Great spot for pasta if you just care about the food!
