Bidrage med feedbackThis place was strange. the food was okay, the service was okay. we came in in a happy hour. honesty not great offers. but cheaper then the regular price.$5 for 3 gyoza, type cache. I have a burger to write nothing. many people came to order to take orders, eat etc. I have heard that others really love this place, and I went for friends who wanted to try. honestly not the biggest fan of fried huhn (gasp, his true! but every one of them really
I've been hearing a lot of buzz about this spot and have been wanting to try it out for a while now and finally had the chance to go. Just the thought of yummy fried chicken and brisket was making my mouth water. It is located in Kalihi on Dillingham Boulevard across of Honolulu Community College in the strip mall. Once we entered, we were greeted by the waitress and waited a short while to get seated. She was the only one who was working the floor. There were 9 other customers in the restaurant and not so busy. The restaurant also has a bar with alcoholic drinks available for purchase during the day. We sat down and our server took our drink orders. Shortly after she took our entree orders. We ordered: 1) Yum Chicken Brisket Chili Combo Plate $1.50 extra for Yum Chicken) 2) Mini Yum Chicken Plate 3) Side Mac n' Cheese Corn The Yum Chicken was very tasty. The flavors are that of Korean Chicken but so much better. Just something about the flavors and not just a shoyu, sugar, garlic sauce. It was fried well and everything was crispy and just amazing. A definelty MUST TRY! The chili was okay. I was told that the pieces of brisket were smaller chunks but my pieces of brisket were bigger pieces more so like a stew. The flavor was good and had a little spice kick to it but the big chunks of meat threw me off a bit. The Mac n' Cheese Corn was also AMAZING and a also a definitely MUST TRY. If you like Mac n' Cheese and cheese corn, you will absolutely live this mix. Lots of cheese and so delicious! I'm not a big mac salad fan but their mac said was good. It has more mayo than I would like but goes well with the chicken. The service overall was good. Our server was sweet and the food came out quickly but some things were forgotten and it was probabaly because she was busy. This is a great restaurant and if you haven't tried it. It is worth a try especially if you love fried chicken.
Good food when you're in a pinch or taking out, but look elsewhere if you're seeking a good dine-in experience. We came in early, just after 8 o'clock. The inside was cute, very instagramable, but the $20 brisket was fatty and hard to chew. The burger was cooked nicely, but a little on the dry side. Teri-Fries were the best part of this meal. Server was nice but forgot about us, didn't ask for drinks, and never got a chance to check on us. 4 10 experience this time :
I was out shopping and needed to eat. I typed dinner into Yelp and Chicken Brisket was one of the places that came up. I remember this was something else before but parking was easy. Cozy dining room but I sat at the bar instead. I ordered the Noods and Thighs combo plate and a side of mac n cheese corn. The chicken was tender and crispy! Loved the fried noodles with brisket! And their take on Korean cheese corn! I would 've gotten dessert but I had to try their YUM chicken and I am so glad I did! Sooooo good! The crispy chicken! The sauce! Yes, I ate all five pieces! It was a half pack! Service was friendly and efficient! They had a large party in the dining room, and a number of people had takeout. I would definitely be back! Mahalo Chicken Brisket!
We were on our way home and had the munchies but didn't feel hungry enough to have our own entrees. So we shared an order of their loaded fries (with sour cream, green onion, house cheese sauce, and bacon) and the chicken and brisket plate (1/4 lb smoked brisket, 2 pieces of classic fried chicken with 2 side choices). The loaded fries were amazing! Crispy fries and tasty bacon!! The brisket was yummy but the chicken was bit too greasy for us. The biscuit was a little dense kind of reminded me of a scone but it was good! They had a Korean Mac salad that had cheese and corn in it. The corn gave it a really nice crunch! I would come again for sure but just skip the chicken.
