Brick Oven Pizza Ward - Honolulu

4.5 Stars Excellent pizza with fresh, high quality toppings and a rustic buttery crust that tastes great. We eat at the bar, and the daily $5 cocktail specials we've tried have all been very good.

I grew up eating Brick Oven on Kauai, so it was nice to see the stores open up on other islands. The Ward location has a very different feel as a modern industrial/loft style venue. For some reason however, the ac seems like it is on overdrive and it can get a bit chilly (my wife brings a light sweater). The pizza is just like I remember it: fantastic sauce with a thin and crispy crust and a hint of garlic. The cheese is tasty and they dont skimp on the toppings like some of the other major chains do. The herbs and spices sprinkling the top put this pie over the top. The price is obviously more then I remember with medium and large 2 toppings pizzas running between $20 and $30, but for a taste of childhood it's worth it for me. The wait staff is generally attentive, about what I'd expect for a pizza parlor.

Perfect location. A lot of parking spaces. The food was delicious. First time try that place.

This place is fantastic! The pizza was absolutely delicious and loved by the whole family. They offer a variety of home specialties in addition to create-your-own pizza options. The menu has a great selection and we can't wait to come back and try more items. We also ordered the spaghetti, which was good, although not particularly outstanding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect for families. And the best part is they are pet-friendly! A family came in with their dog and the server provided a dog mat and water dish. As someone who used to be against pets in restaurants, having my own dog now makes me appreciate being able to bring him along. We're definitely bringing him next time.

First visit... Stuns over this treasure when shopping at the Ward Mall and as needed for lunch. They offer several crust options, white, whole wheat gluten-free vegan with garlic butter brushed. Love they have 2 non tomato sauce options, Alfredo and Pesto. I chose the Alfredo sauce and was not disappointed! I have a small 2 topping pizza with mushrooms and spinach. Crust is thin and crispy. The edges are thicker and still crisp like a beautiful French bread. The staff was really friendly and let us move tables as I have an injury and could not sit in the chairs. Well-rounded menu with salad, soup, appetizers, sandwiches and pasta. Note that the stated prices are bar prices. If you use any type of card, add 3.5%. There are weekly food specialties Monday-Thursday, and a special drink every day. Nice full bar to complete the atmosphere! Just the case I found was eating the aluminum tablets. I'm not an aluminum fan. Would definitely return and try more about the menu options.
