Bidrage med feedbackI was unsure if the restaurant was vegan as the woman at the counter did not speak English, but I relied on the limited English on the labels to order. I had soup, white rice, and a box of vegetables and mock meat for $40 HKD. Although I have not yet tried the soup, everything else was delicious and there was a generous portion of food. I will be bringing half of it back to my hostel for dinner. I will definitely return to this restaurant if I can't find any other affordable meals in the area. I also suggest taking your meal to the nearby park, as there are plenty of seating options and the view is beautiful.
There may not be much English on the signs, but the friendly ladies who served me were helpful. I ordered the lunch set, which included a delicious mix of mushrooms and bean curd, along with perfectly cooked rice and a simple vegetable soup on the side. You can choose to have either tofu or bean curd sliced on top, and adding some chili sauce gives it an extra kick. There weren't enough vegetables for my liking, so I bought some baby bok choi from the supermarket and quickly boiled them in my room to complete the meal. The set was priced at $40 and was a good size. The restaurant is easy to find, located on the road to the right of Watson. I would recommend bringing your own lunch box for the food and a thermos or glass for the soup. Only a 12-minute walk away is the Oil Gallery (12 Oil Street between 7-11 and Port Grand Hotel), where you can enjoy outdoor seating and relax for free. Gallery hours are Sun-Tues 10am-8pm, and Mon 2-8pm.
The food is basically choose a box size. either $30/40/50/70. We chose the $50 think there is a lot of choice. Obviously his for gluten.. the fried stuff is not included.. So if you want the fried stuff you need to get it on your own. The younger lady who served us was very impatient with us. we were not slow or anything that has just decided and there is no queen. but basically she rolled her eyes on us. Eating was easy and trust me that you can go somewhere better with the price.
I tried the Siu mai, herbal roll, seaweed, and two Chinese desserts (red bean and sesame) at this restaurant, and all of them were vegan! I absolutely loved everything! The dim sum was more flavorful than any I have had at other similar shops in the past.
I'm honestly not sure if what I got was vegan. The woman at the counter didn't speak English, so I just went off of the little bit of English that was on the labels. I got soup, white rice, and a box of veggies and mock meats for $40 HKD. I haven't tried the soup yet, but everything was delicious. It is so much food too. I am going to take my leftovers (about half of everything) back to my hostel for dinner later today. I'll definitely be back here if I can't find other low-cost meal options in the area. Also, I recommend taking your meal over to the park nearby. There's plenty of places to sit, and the view is nice.
