Top of the Cove Restaurant

This is a first-class restaurant with delicious meals with specialities such as daily suppers, main courses and desserts. These are all served in a large dining room with views of the bay and all moored yachts. also a large open side deck is comfortably furnished...from the main restaurant with the same view and eat . However, I found the wee too expensive through the glass for 6 ounces.

We were staying at the Delawana Resort and looked up restaurants nearby for lunch. There weren’t many options for a nicer dining experience that was within a 5 ish minute drive but we looked at Top of the Cove and it looked like our best...option. It ended up being one of our best experiences! The menu had so many dishes we would have loved to have tried, it was difficult to decide. My husband went with the Pickerel and I chose the Curry Chicken as it is their own blend of spices and sauce made in house. Both dishes were the best we ever had! The view is over the lake so you can never go wrong there with their big windows! What made our experience perfect was Joelle, our server! My husband and I arrived there trying to figure out how to overcome the fact that I only brought sandals and the main activity we wanted to do for the weekend was play tennis at the resort. We didn’t want to waste time driving another hour to go to Orillia and back for new shoes! In my typical humour, I tell my husband that I would pay $20 for someone’s shoes off their feet! And then Joelle comes to our table! Not only was she super pleasant, she happened to have an almost brand new pair of Nikes there, in my size that she didn’t end up using much! We bought them off of her! As she brought them to me, I jokingly ask, you don’t happen to have any socks on you too? She comes back with 2 pairs of brand new socks and gives them to me! What a wonderful experience that we talk about often! And we definitely will return for the food! We were also able to play hours of tennis (if you can call it that at our level! .

We dined there a few weeks ago with another couple. When we arrived we were greeted by our server and asked to be seated on the deck outside. We received our drinks quickly and proceeded to order some appetizers to share. We had the calamari...and a caesar salad to start and both were excellent. I ordered the burger and my wife ordered the fish and chips. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The fries were crisp and yummy. I tried some of my wife's tartar sauce on a fry and wow, very good! The couple we were with both ordered the pickerel and raved about it. We had a lovely evening and very much enjoyed watching the sun go down over the bay as we finished our drinks. We will certainly be back next year!

A skimpy menu, mediocre food and horrible customer service. Waited forever for a simple meal on a night when it wasn't busy. Will not be going back!

I recently dined at South Bay Yacht Haven and decided to try the recommended Top of the Cove Wine and Dine for dinner. I was impressed from the moment I arrived and was greeted with friendly smiles and excellent hospitality. We started with a variety of appetizers including kale Caesar salad, chicken nuggets, and a flatbread, all of which were delicious. Our main dishes, including the special Bacon Carbonara with added chicken breast, were equally amazing. The dish was flavorful and piping hot, and I hope it becomes a regular menu item. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the marina and water, adding to the overall dining experience. I highly recommend this hidden gem and will definitely be returning soon.
